Phones
Communications have been a large part of the technological advances developed during the nineteenth and twentieth centuries; since the likes of Alexander Graham Bell patented the telephone in 1876 people have had the capability to communicate by voice with people in separate locations.
In the twentieth century, the technology developed further until they eventually became the devices we are familiar with today. The devices are so popular that they are the most common household appliance in the world. One form of phone that had monumental success at the end of the twentieth century and continuing into the twenty first is the mobile phone, which has brought the world of communications to a unprecedented level. Mobile phones have also managed to bring us together in other ways such as allowing mass communication through the use of texting and emailing (on phones with the internet).
The internet itself has had a large role to play in the development of communications as well. Devices such as skype allow us to make long distance phone calls and emailing and instant messaging have paved the way in bringing people from around the world closer together.
Phones and communications are integral to the running of the world and as a result will be around for as long as humans roam the Earth.
